Oh Bugger....
I didn't expect such a big response. Could any of my long term (or
short term) subscribers help me by replying to some of the posters
asking for help?
Lots of the questions there can be answered by any number of you, who have a bit of experience.
I will be answering some of the posts asap.
Thanks in advance if you can help.
Mike

Hey Mike,
I appreciate all your efforts. I'm looking forward to learning more and more on the guitar. I have recently changed computers to a Macintosh. I notice that some downloads don't work with the Mac. Hope you can help. I've lost everything from you in the past year because my computer crashed, now I have to start over. When I switched to Mac a lot of the videos I saved wouldn't work. joe Re: Re: Re: Re: Can anyone out there help?

Joe,
I just went through the same thing. You need to go to a website www.mactopia.com. It has windows programs written for a mac. You will probably need to download the free stuffit program highlighted on the screen first. After you do this download the Windows Media Player. Once you go through these steps you can download Mike's videos, they will be in you download file. When you click on it it will open in Media Player like it did on you PC. I have not figured out if teffile will work yet so i forward these emails to my laptop pc and view them there. It's better than not getting the info. I was originally really bummed when i couldn't use the videos. If you go through all of the steps on mactopia you should not have any problems. Its all free. Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info on Tefview for the Mac. I have been running it on the PC side (through VMWare Fusion), but this is much easier & saves me a step or two. Tell me, do you have tab for Mad World? I had watched the Video on YouTube & understand you send it out after our posts have been moderated. Still practicing with the Classical Gas DVD I purchased from you & am beginning to think I can play it! Thanks again, Chris Howard P.S. I think I have my eye on the Beatles collection for my next round of lessons :) Re: Re: Re: Re: Can anyone out there help?

I don't know much about Mac's but you just need a Utility Program that can say re-format your videos to a format the Macintosh's can read. Now to something I can help you with. Getting Data off a Stuffed PC Hard Drive. 1/ Its probable that the system files are damaged on the PC, so the easy way to fix that is to put the Hard Drive into another computer, then copy the files you want to DVD or CD. 2/ If there are mechanical damage to the Hard drive you are in trouble, however. Get a copy of "Spinrite" a utility program that repairs Hard Drives. Get hold of "The ULTIMATE Boot disk and "Nortans Disk Doctor".

Hi Mike,
Happy to help out. Just a thought, are you able to convert/add on a Forum Page sectioned into various main elements/subjects. This blog is only going to get bigger and difficult to manage. You've got quite a following (mmm! I wonder why, could it be because your 'blooming good'). Anyway, glad to help out in any way and will always respect your integrity etc in my responses to help. Hi
If I can help at all Iwill do so gladly, but as mentioned by another post, maybe the format will have to be altered. Your videos and style of explanation are so expertly fashioned that is the reason your so wanted and needed. I would imagine that like me and hundreds of other guitarists around the universe, that you achieve satisfaction from teaching the language of the the world MUSIC. KEEP MUSIC LIVE Take care and have fun. Jack Re: Can anyone out there help?

Mike,
all the best with this new blog! I just wanted to pass on to prospective customers that I have twice contacted you for help when I've messed up (e.g. bought same video twice) and your responses have been really fast and fair. I'm a repeat customer because I get on so well with your material. I don't have time for scheduled lessons but the ability to pick up at my convenience and actually be able to see what is going on has been key to me making any progress with guitar. I'm so not a natural... that to be getting some nice sounds out of my accoustic is very pleasing. Looking forward to new material in 2008 to build the old repertoire (loved Homward Bound... ) Best Richard P Re: Can anyone out there help?

Hey Mike.Wicked site and i must say that you have a good cult following :D.Also, i would like to ask whether most people here would like to learn some Rock or even Metal type music from todays bands(Avenged Sevenfold and similar bands) because i have this urge to try something like that on my guitar.Dont know about you all. However, i am extremely happy so far and cant ask for anything better.Thanx Mike.

Hi Mike, I have posted to say a massive thanks for your free vids.
I have purchased a few of your very reasonable song vids also, you have a talent for teaching guitar that isn't around on any other site... I know, 'I've looked and looked', I'm now able to play a song from start to finish, the first for me, I'm having a great time learning now, it wasn't like that for me prior to 'Mike Herberts', you seem to know exactly what learners will struggle with and present us with the solution at the same time... brilliant Alan Re: Can anyone out there help?
Hi Mike. Just some thanks for your marvellous videos on youtube, and the freebees you offered too. Your method and layout etc are first class.. I have tried em all!!!!
You are so good I might even spend some money with you eventually!!! Regards BanjO=== Re: Can anyone out there help?

Nice videos. First ones on the net which are worth something for a beginner. I've been playing for about ten months now, and I have made the most progress when I started learning from your videos. I would also add a request here if I may, please post some delta/chicago/texas blues videos if you have the time and mood.
All the best, B.B. |
